By tincturing a small piece of the placenta, you can take advantage of the benefits of your placenta for years to come. Placenta tinctures are often used for life transitions, emotional moments, and traumatic times, as well as menopause.
Let your tincture steep for at least six weeks before use. A daily shake will be good enough to mix the contents, and after the 6 week period, you may finish the process by straining the mixture using cheesecloth and a funnel into the tincture bottle. You do not need to strain at 6 weeks if you don’t plan to use the placenta until later–the longer the tissue remains in the alcohol, the stronger the mixture becomes. The tincture should be stored in a cool and dark location.
Dosage instructions: Dilute 5-10 drops of tincture in a glass of water, juice or other beverage. If you prefer, you can place the drops directly under the tongue.
You may also give the tincture to a baby over the age of 6 months for fussiness or teething. The dosage for a healthy child is 3-5 drops mixed with breast milk, formula, or water, preferably warmed so the alcohol may evaporate. Dosage SHOULD NOT be exceeded.
