My name is Rachel Szostek. I am a birth doula who trained with DONA International, a Lamaze trained childbirth educator and a placenta encapsulation specialist. I am also honored to be the mother of two children of my own, lending a personal touch to my services.
I want you to have empowering birth experience, no matter what type of birth you have planned. This begins with Lamaze education that relies on evidence-based practices for the healthiest outcomes, and continues with support through birth and beyond. My goal is to set you up to have a positive and successful parenting journey.
I personally have a passion for helping women breastfeed successfully according to their feeding goals. I want to make sure every woman has the support she needs to help her baby get the best nutrition possible during the early years of life!
I have experience in:
Hospital birth, home birth, VBAC, unmedicated birth, medicated birth, water birth, cesarean birth, and more!

I am a certified birth doula with DONA International, a La Leche League leader, and an incorrigible birth nerd. I often stay up late reading pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding research, and I am comfortable (sometimes too comfortable!) discussing my reading with anyone who will sit still and listen.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh:
“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.”
I have been born to motherhood twice, and I have found myself stronger, wiser, more capable, and more spiritually grounded each time. My goal as a birth worker is to provide other women with the tools and support to be likewise empowered.

My name is Julie Gladney. I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Licensed Practical Nurse. I am mother to four children, who have provided me with a variety of breastfeeding experiences. I have been providing professional lactation services to families since 2008. My goal is to provide evidence based information to mothers and their families as they navigate the terrain known as the childbearing years. I assess complex breastfeeding situations, create specialized care plans, initiate breastfeeding therapies and support families throughout. Education, Empowerment and Support make for successful breastfeeding. Rachel has invited me to write a monthly, breastfeeding related blog post and I happily accept the invitation. Stay tuned!
